General Terms & Conditions
Sefid AB, corporate registration number 559446-2102, provides household services such as home cleaning, laundry, ironing, window cleaning, gardening, and moving assistance. These General Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Sefid and an individual (“the Customer”) who orders one or more of these services from Sefid. The Customer may place an order by signing an agreement or by booking services via Sefid’s website, customer application, or by telephone. The agreement between Sefid and the Customer, including these General Terms and Conditions and any appendices, constitutes the binding contract governing how Sefid delivers services to the Customer. In the event of any discrepancies between these General Terms and Conditions and the specific service order/agreement, the specific service agreement shall take precedence.
1. Sefid’s Commitments
Sefid undertakes to perform the Services in accordance with the Agreement. All services shall be performed diligently and in a professional manner. Sefid’s personnel have the requisite training to perform the Services, and Sefid holds all permits required based on the information provided by the Customer. Where there is a specific agreement for a designated cleaner to perform recurring services, Sefid will endeavor to fulfill this request. In cases of illness, holiday, or absence, Sefid reserves the right to provide an experienced, competent substitute.
2. The Customer’s Commitments
The Customer is responsible for ensuring Sefid has safe access to the premises and access to the necessary equipment and materials required to perform the Services under the Agreement. This includes providing working cleaning equipment (for example, a functional vacuum cleaner with attachments), keys, access badges, door codes, and clear instructions for entering the property. If Sefid is contracted to supply equipment or cleaning detergents, Sefid reserves the right to invoice this separately.
The Customer must continually inform Sefid’s personnel of conditions that may affect the execution of the Services. In particular, the Customer must notify Sefid of the presence of valuable, fragile, or delicate objects and materials, specifying how they should be handled. The Customer must also disclose any pre-existing plumbing issues, sensitive surface materials, or structural peculiarities in the home.
The Customer is responsible for keeping all information provided current throughout the contract term. Upon termination of the Agreement, the Customer must retrieve and sign for keys previously provided to Sefid at Sefid’s office. If the Customer does not collect keys within one (1) month of Sefid’s collection notice, Sefid will securely destroy the keys. At the Customer’s written request, Sefid can return keys via registered mail at the Customer’s sole risk and expense. The Customer must also provide a healthy and safe work environment for Sefid’s personnel in compliance with Swedish work environment laws.
3. Sefid’s Right to Refuse Service
Sefid reserves the right to refuse service if specific justifiable grounds exist. Justifiable grounds include disrespectful, threatening, or inappropriate conduct by the Customer or household members toward Sefid’s personnel. It also includes situations where customer-provided equipment or materials are hazardous or unsuitable, where a safe working environment cannot be guaranteed, or where unexpected circumstances prevent safe and compliant performance.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
The Customer has the right to reschedule or cancel a service free of charge, provided that notification is received at least three (3) working days prior to the scheduled service date. For subscription customers, the cancelled service session is credited to the Customer’s hours bank for future use.
If rescheduling or cancellation occurs less than three (3) working days prior to the scheduled service date, a fixed administrative cancellation fee of 790 SEK will be charged.
5. Right of Withdrawal (Distance Contracts)
Where the Agreement is entered into at a distance, the Customer has a statutory right of withdrawal under the Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (2005:59). The Customer may withdraw within fourteen (14) days from the conclusion of the contract. If the Customer requests the service to begin during the withdrawal period, the Customer must pay a proportionate amount for the service performed up to the time of cancellation.
6. Pricing, Invoicing & RUT Tax Deduction
Prices are stated inclusive of VAT unless otherwise specified. For eligible private individuals resident in Sweden, the 50% RUT tax deduction is deducted directly on the invoice in accordance with current Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) regulations. Sefid administers the RUT application on behalf of the Customer. Should Skatteverket reject the RUT deduction in whole or in part (for example, if the Customer has exceeded their annual statutory allowance), the unpaid balance becomes due immediately and will be invoiced to the Customer.
Standard payment terms are ten (10) to thirty (30) days net from the invoice date. Late payments incur statutory interest and reminder fees under Swedish law. In addition, an administrative service charge of 49 SEK applies per invoice to cover billing, insurance compliance, and quality control.
Price adjustments may occur annually and will be communicated at least one (1) month in advance. If the Customer does not accept a price adjustment, they may terminate the Agreement within two (2) weeks of notification with immediate effect.
7. Insurance Coverage
Sefid maintains comprehensive business liability insurance with a reputable Swedish insurer covering property damage or injury arising directly from the performance of the Services. Sefid’s insurance does not cover damages caused by the Customer or pre-existing wear and tear.
The Customer is strongly advised to maintain valid home insurance (hemförsäkring) for the premises throughout the contract period. Valid home insurance is essential for mutual security and peace of mind.
8. Service Quality Guarantee & Complaints
If Sefid fails to perform a Service due to reasons not attributable to the Customer, the Customer will not be billed for that session. In the event of defects or shortcomings in Sefid’s performance, Sefid must always be given the opportunity to rectify the defect free of charge. If the defect cannot be rectified, the Customer may be entitled to a price deduction. A price deduction cannot be claimed unless Sefid has first been given a fair opportunity to remedy the issue.
Claims for property damage require the Customer to demonstrate that Sefid caused the damage. The Customer must report any defect or damage in writing within a reasonable time (and for move-out cleaning, within 48 hours of completion) via email to [email protected], including supporting photographic documentation.
9. Limitation of Liability
Sefid is liable only for direct damages incurred as an immediate result of proven negligence in the performance of the Services. Sefid is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profits, consequential losses, or holiday compensation. Sefid’s total annual aggregate liability under the Agreement is capped at one (1) statutory price base amount (prisbasbelopp) under the Swedish Social Insurance Code.
This limitation does not apply to personal injury or gross negligence. Sefid is not liable for damage arising from undeclared fragile items, incorrectly mounted fixtures, or normal aging and wear of floors, grout, and window fittings.
10. Personal Data & Privacy (GDPR)
Sefid AB processes Customer personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data (name, personal ID number, address, contact details) is processed strictly for the performance of the contract, invoicing, and statutory tax administration with Skatteverket. The Customer retains the right to request access, rectification, or erasure of their data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
